Installation and performance
This page and this area of my practice are still very much a work in progress.
Thus far in my work, I have been exploring themes of community, adolescence, queerness and queer time, and the qualities of the speaking, human voice.
Premiered on April 14th, 2017, at the Che Cafe.
As an exploration of queer time, I watched Babe and looped moments of trauma in the protagonist's life in an attempt to explore non-normative temporal trajectories and how we live with trauma.
Premiered on February 2nd, 2017, at the Conrad Prebys Music Center.
This piece involved a full size tent with a hidden microphone that sent the conversations occurring in the full size tent to a speaker inside a miniature tent in the gallery space. My goal was to capture the vocal quality of private conversation that occur when one feels welcome and safe.
Premiered on March 10th, 2016, at the Molli and Arthur Wagner Dance Building.
This piece explores concepts of scarcity, hierarchies, and dehumanization.
