Hillary Jean Young

masc4masc is the queercore performance art project of Sadie Hochman-Ruiz and Hillary Jean Young. Formed during their doctoral studies at the University of California, San Diego, masc4masc has performed in, hosted, and curated art parties throughout Southern California and Western Canada. Following their debut multimedia work, Dawson’sCreamo, masc4masc created their most recent piece, Not Another Queer Movie. A meditation on a queer adolescence that never was, Not Another Queer Movie employs storytelling, parody, and improvisation to queer the early 2000s high school movie genre. Recorded in San Diego, Not Another Queer Movie was released by people places records in January 2020.
